Little Farms United Church of Christ is a welcoming, progressive, spiritual congregation, impacting lives with the love of God. The mission of Little Farms United Church of Christ is to grow in faith and to be a community of extravagant welcome. We seek to make a difference in our local community, the region and the world by showing and sharing God's love for all people.
Little Farms United Church of Christ is an open and affirming congregation of an open and affirming denomination; we affirm each person as a child of God and we invite everyone into the full life and ministry of the church.
We welcome fully into our community persons of every gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, mental and physical ability, age, race, nationality, economic and social status, faith background, marital standing, family structure, and recovery group.
Friends, as you know, Hurricane Ida took our roof off and we had water intrusion that flooded our building and ran down the inside of the walls. Without power, mold grew. While we were pulling out rugs and carpets, asbestos was found that turned out to be pervasive throughout. After prayerful consideration, our congregation made the decision to take the buildings down and rebuild a multipurpose building that will be new and fresh, more energy efficient, and more modern. We will remain as the church every step of the way forward. We have God's abiding presence, love, and guidance every moment. And, beloved, we have each other! As Pastor Susan shared from Isaiah 43:19, "God is doing a new thing! Do you perceive it?"
All are welcome and invited to join us during this interim period at John Calvin Presbyterian Church each Sunday at 10:30 a.m. John Calvin is located at 4201 Transcontinental Drive, Metairie, LA 70006.
